The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has been honoring conservation heroes since 1965, through its National Conservation Achievement Awards & Dinner. This annual celebration – known informally as the “Connie Awards” – recognizes individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting wildlife through education, advocacy, and on-the-ground conservation. Previous awardees have included former Vice President Al Gore, former President Jimmy Carter, Lady Bird Johnson, Ted Turner, the Anheuser-Busch Companies, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, and other distinguished recipients.
THE EVENT
Awards will be presented at an annual dinner that brings together more than 500 national and local conservation activists, business leaders and volunteers, Members of Congress, and philanthropic leaders to honor our distinguished winners.
The evening will be hosted by Master of Ceremonies Jack Hanna, (TV host of Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures and Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo) - joined by a few of his animal friends.
