Tony Caligiuri First Regional Executive Director of Chesapeake Mid-Atlantic Natural Resource Center

Tony Caligiuri has joined the National
Wildlife Federation as the first Regional
Executive Director of NWF’s recently-opened
Chesapeake Mid-Atlantic Natural Resource Center
in
Caligiuri comes to the National
Wildlife Federation from the office of Rep.
Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD), where he served as
chief of staff for 18 years. As chief of staff,
Caligiuri managed Rep. Gilchrest’s 22-member
staff in five offices and served as Gilchrest’s
chief advisor and public spokesman on all
political, administrative and legislative
matters.

Tony Caligiuri to National Wildlife
Federation,” said Larry Schweiger, NWF
president and CEO. “His long tenure with
Congressman Wayne Gilchrest and his devotion to
conservation in the Chesapeake Atlantic region
make him an ideal leader of our new regional
Natural Resource Center.”
Caligiuri has
already been active with the National Wildlife
Federation’s 501(c)4 sister organization, the
National Wildlife Federation Action Fund,
having served as a board member. This year,
Caligiuri completed a ten-year run as board
chairman of the Maryland League of Conservation
Voters Education Fund.

legislation to reduce global warming pollution
and help wildlife survive the impacts of
climate change. The National Wildlife
Federation is actively educating and mobilizing
hunters, anglers, gardeners and other wildlife
enthusiasts in the Mid-Atlantic to support
climate action at all levels of government. In
addition to advancing the National Wildlife
Federation’s programmatic work, Caligiuri will
work to strengthen the organization’s affiliate
